Bird Control Services By Ecoguard
LANDFILL BIRD CONTROL
Ecoguard are experts in bird control,we can supply a highly specialized service to the waste management industry. With over 10 years experience on landfill sites you can be sure that we will have an effective solution to your bird control problem. The birds that we use are peregrine and peregrine x saker hybrid falcons, all of which are engaged in persuing thier natural quarry. Target species such as gulls and crows will quickly disperse from the area once they realise that the threat is real. Staff will also have a number of secondary deterrents available to ensure that cover is maintained in bad weather, these will include blanks,rockets,bio-acoustics and bird scaring kites. Technicians can also carry out effective fly control and rodent control on site providing managers with a comprehensive service.
HEALTH & SAFETY
Ecoguard hold quarry passports ensuring they are fully compliant in all areas of health & safety on site. Risk asessments and method statements are available upon request. PPE is worn as per site rules and vehicles are fitted with orange flashing beacons.
Nuisance birds are dispersed from areas such as Airfields, landfill, sports stadia, power stations, airports, breweries, office blocks and various other commercial and industrial premises with the use of trained birds of prey.
URBAN BIRD CONTROL
In most urban environments a Harris hawk would be used . If birds are using a building for roosting at night the hawk would be introduced into the area approx 1 hour before dusk on consecutive days until the birds have dispersed to an alternative site.
If birds are present at different times of the day, then the hawk would be introduced into the area when bird numbers are at their most. Secondary deterrents such as distress calls and dummy predatory birds such as plastic owls can be used to reinforce the scaring process when a hawk is not being flown, in this strategy the owls are regulary moved around the site so that the target species do not become habituated to them.
Most of our urban bird management programmes are carried out in large open areas that would prove to be too costly for the more conventional proofing methods. A number of factors will determine which type of bird control programme will suit your particular situation If you are experiencing problems with pest birds please feel free to give us a call to arrange for a free site survey and quotation.
